‘The Accolade’ is a short little book of great tenderness. The argument is very simple: a mother and her son Ben stroll through the countryside at sunset. There is no one like you in the world, says the mother. But why is no one like me in the world? Asks the child. The walk will help Ben be aware of the individuality of each of us, and also know the origin of hugs. Discovering the uniqueness of the individual leads Ben to another disturbing question, if each of us is unique, are we alone in the world?
